Celebrating 60 years of Prem Rawat’s enduring invitation to discover the peace that already exists within.
Every generation faces the same essential questions. Why am I here? What makes life meaningful? Is peace really possible in a noisy, uncertain world?
Over the past 60 years, while the world has changed almost beyond recognition, Prem Rawat has devoted his life to exploring those timeless questions with millions of people around the globe.
During that time, we’ve walked on the moon, connected billions through the internet, decoded the human genome, created artificial intelligence and transformed nearly every aspect of modern life. The world has changed at breathtaking speed. Yet amid all this change, one question has remained remarkably constant:
What does it mean to experience real peace?
For the past six decades, this question has been at the heart of Prem Rawat’s work.
With great commitment and flair, he has devoted his life to encouraging people everywhere to discover a state of inner contentment that does not depend on changing circumstances — not on a mountaintop, cave, or in some imagined future, but here and now.
“The peace you’re looking for is inside of you. The joy you’re looking for is inside of you. The love you’re looking for is inside of you.”
— Prem Rawat

Who am I? Why am I here? What does it mean to truly know myself? (2:54)
A Timeless Invitation
The world that Prem Rawat first addressed in 1966 was vastly different from today’s. Back then, there was no Internet, no smartphones, and no social media. Almost everything about the way people communicate these days has changed. And yet, remarkably, the central focus of Prem Rawat’s work has remained much the same.
“We’re on a journey to experience the self in its purest form.”
— Prem Rawat
A Journey that Began Early in Life
Prem Rawat first spoke publicly at the age of four, surprising many with his remarkable presence. At eight, following the passing of his father, Shri Hans Ji Maharaj, he accepted the responsibility of continuing his father’s work, helping people discover what it means to live a conscious, grateful and fulfilled life.
Few could have imagined that Prem Rawat’s earliest talks would mark the beginning of a lifelong journey that would touch millions of lives in more than 100 countries.
Since then, his work has transcended political systems, cultures and generations while remaining free of ideological or religious affiliation. Rather than asking people to adopt a new belief system, he encourages them to discover their own authentic experience of life.
“Without experience, everything we think and believe is theory.”
— Prem Rawat
As Prem Rawat often says, he sees himself not as someone with answers to impose, but as a mirror reflecting what already exists within each person. He isn’t seeking followers. He simply offers a time-tested way for people to discover their own inner compass.
The Heart of His Work
What Prem Rawat offers goes far beyond inspirational speeches or familiar self-help advice. Rather than asking people to adopt a new belief system or philosophy, he invites them to discover a source of peace that exists independently of society’s definitions of success. Toward this end, he teaches practical techniques of Self-Knowledge that help people shift their attention from the outside world to the peace that already exists within them.
The principles that guide his work are both simple and profound:
- Peace is a fundamental human need.
- Lasting peace begins with the individual.
- Every person has the capacity to experience inner peace.
- Self-understanding is more valuable than ideology.
- Life is lived and experienced in the present moment.
Reaching New Generations
As technology has evolved, so has the way Prem Rawat invites people to explore their true nature. His practical insights now reach people through an ever-expanding range of platforms. In addition to the more than 60 public events that he presents each year, his work is available through livestreams, podcasts, online courses, websites, television and radio interviews, videos and books.
His bestselling book, “Hear Yourself: How to Find Peace in a Noisy World,” published by HarperCollins in 2021, became a New York Times bestseller and has since been translated into 16 languages.
His next book, “Breath: Wake Up to Life,” explores one of the most universal experiences shared by every human being — the breath that accompanies every moment of life.
His forthcoming book, “Who Are You?” continues the exploration of what it means to be a fully awake, alive and authentic human being.
His Humanitarian Work Continues to Thrive
While Prem Rawat’s main call to action begins within, the impact he’s had does not end there. Founded in 2001, The Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) advances dignity, peace and prosperity by meeting essential human needs while empowering people to discover their own inner resources. Whether through humanitarian aid, the Food for People program or the Peace Education Program, TPRF’s work reflects a practical commitment to improving lives.
The following figures illustrate the breadth and reach of Prem Rawat’s ongoing efforts with TPRF.
- Nearly 10 million healthy meals, along with clean water and educational opportunities, have been provided to disadvantaged children and others in need in India, Nepal, Ghana and South Africa.
- More than 700,000 people in 80 countries have participated in Peace Education Program workshops delivered in 45 languages.
- More than $6.7 million has funded over 190 humanitarian grants supporting disaster relief, water infrastructure, computer labs, eye care clinics and other life-enhancing initiatives.
Measuring the Immeasurable
Some things in life are easy to measure. Others are not. In many respects, it is not always easy to measure the impact Prem Rawat has had in the past 60 years because the essence of what he’s helping people discover is not always quantifiable — being more about quality than quantity.
And yet, for those keeping score, there are many measurable examples of the impact he’s had, beginning with thousands of heartfelt expressions from people in more than 100 countries.
All around the world, people from every imaginable background describe discovering something unexpected — not a new belief, but a new relationship with themselves.
“What Prem Rawat has shown me offers me a constant source of love and inspiration which, in turn, strengthens me with personal courage, resilience, passion and compassion.”
—Rosemary Herd, Australia
“Practicing the techniques of Self-Knowledge has given me the opportunity to experience contentment and peace within myself.”
—Saroj Sharma, Nepal
“Prem Rawat has helped me discover that my true nature is peace and that I possess everything I need to live in harmony with my deepest humanity.”
—Alla Rogers, USA
“Now I know that I can be in a place from fear, uncertainty, and time. My whole life has changed.”
—Raul Arturo Montalvetti, Argentina
“The gift of Knowledge teaches me how to receive every day as a gift full of surprises that leaves me in awe.”
—Sylvie Armand, France
A Record-Breaking Global Reach
While the deepest impact of Prem Rawat’s work can never be measured by numbers alone, some aspects of its extraordinary reach can. In recent years, that global reach has been recognized through three Guinness World Records.
- Largest audience (114,704) to attend a book reading by a single author
- Largest attendance (375,000) at a lecture
- Largest audience (133,234) at a multi-author book reading
These records are noteworthy not simply because of their size, but because they reflect something far more meaningful: the enduring desire of people everywhere to explore the possibility of living with greater peace, clarity and fulfillment.
Music, Celebration and the Joy of Being Alive
Throughout his long career, Prem Rawat has embraced music as a way to open hearts and minds. Historically, many of his events have included singers, musicians and bands. In the past year he has expanded this form of creative expression by writing and producing an expanding repertoire of original songs, each exploring themes of gratitude, possibility and the simple joy of being alive.

Some of these songs have become a key part of a new series of international gatherings called “Uncover Life,” immersive events that combine music, storytelling and reflection to encourage participants to discover a deeper appreciation for life.
Recent Uncover Life gatherings have taken place in Buenos Aires, Brighton, Fort Lauderdale, Barcelona, Bad Vilbel, Boston and Bologna.
A New Way to Explore Timeless Wisdom
People who have followed Prem Rawat’s work over the years have witnessed his remarkable willingness to embrace innovative, new ways of reaching people. One of the newest expressions of that ongoing evolution is Intelligent Existence — a learning platform he launched in 2024 that reflects the same spirit that has characterized his work for decades: finding fresh ways to make timeless ideas accessible to modern audiences.

Why People Continue to Listen
After 60 years, why do Prem Rawat’s teachings continue to resonate? Perhaps because they speak to something that transcends time. Technology changes. Politics change. Economies change. Cultures change, too. And yet every generation continues to long for happiness, understanding, meaning and peace.
Whether someone first heard Prem Rawat in 1966 as an eight-year-old prodigy or discovers his work today, the invitation remains the same: to pause, to turn within, to know oneself and enjoy life to the fullest.
A Legacy Still Unfolding
Most people celebrate a 60-year anniversary by looking back. Prem Rawat is more interested in looking ahead. Towards that end, he continues traveling, writing, speaking and developing fresh new ways to open minds and hearts.
Upcoming 60th anniversary celebrations (Guru Puja) in India (July 31–Aug. 2) and Australia (Sept. 7–11) will be followed by another milestone: the release of Prem Rawat’s new book, “Who Are You?,” to be published in Hindi in India in October 2026 and in English in March 2027.
Time may fly, but the thirst to experience the best of life remains. That aspiration is as alive today as it was 60 years ago when Prem Rawat began his work in the world.
Sixty years later, his invitation remains remarkably simple: to discover that peace, joy and fulfillment are not distant ideals but are living possibilities already within us. For those who have walked this journey with Prem Rawat — and for those just beginning — it is clear that this anniversary is not simply a celebration of the past. It is a celebration of what is still possible.
More about the 60th Anniversary Celebration in India
Guru Puja, also known as Guru Purnima, is a traditional Indian festival that dates back thousands of years. It is a celebration of the relationship between student and teacher.
This year, Guru Puja with Prem Rawat will take place July 31 – August 2 in Delhi, India. The three-day international gathering will feature music, reflection, connection and inspiration.
While in-person attendance at the venue has reached full capacity, people around the world are warmly invited to participate online. Across India, multiple locations will also host community screenings, allowing people to gather and experience the event together.
