“Life’s Essentials with Prem Rawat” podcast series 3, episode 23 – Are You Looking Outside Your Box?”

Oct 26, 2021

“You in your life, wanting, searching—but what are you searching for? Do you want to be free? This box may pretend to give you security. But it robs so much of who you are. It stymies your potential for growth, for understanding—for freedom, to express yourself.” Prem Rawat

Your walls of confinement may be a box of burdens you have lived with, societal pressure keeping you down, or limiting beliefs you have inherited from generations before you. Maybe you’ve managed to get out of one box only to find yourself climbing into another, lured by a false sense of security. Sometimes the inertia of being cooped up in them might seem impossible to move beyond.

Prem Rawat’s insights on life can be the catalyst that frees you from any box you feel trapped in. A flight attendant of a major airline, listening to the audiobook of Prem’s New York Times best-seller Hear Yourself: How to Find Peace in A Noisy World, said, “I am so excited about the gift Prem’s book has given me these past few days. It’s not like I know I won’t have bad days, but his messages have given me a profound perspective on how to look at each day.”

She’s discovering the power of the quote: “We don’t need wings to fly. All we need is for those ropes that tie us down to be cut.”

In this podcast and Chapter 5 of Hear Yourself, Prem elaborates on the value of Self-Knowledge: There are a lot of people in this world who live their lives hoping to be told where to paint. They’re saying: “Give me squares I can paint in or wash with water, just don’t ask me to create something myself.” But we’ve been given the opportunity to express ourselves—to paint beautiful pictures with the strengths we have inside. Each new morning, we can choose to be the most fantastic version of ourselves. Ignore the numbers. Paint outside the boxes. Paint what’s in your heart. Paint the most dazzling version of who you are.
