“Life’s Essentials with Prem Rawat” podcast series 3, episode 11 – How Can I Become a Better Person?

Aug 3, 2021

How can I be better?

The impulse to improve ourselves and our circumstances is innate. We strive to be better parents, better children, better employers and employees, better friends. We may have faced those confronting moments of blurting out something unconsciously that we immediately regretted and vowed to become better communicators. As Mark Twain said, “It is better to keep your mouth closed and let people think you are a fool than to open it and remove all doubt.”

Better communication isn’t just about mastering grammar, building an extensive vocabulary, or possessing dazzling wit. It entails the art of listening. And having something significant to say, especially if our words can touch someone’s heart.

In response to listeners requesting to hear more from Prem on “becoming a better person,” he shares a symbolic story of being in alliance with the power in us that can move mountains, and what we are capable of when we experience the ultimate collaboration.

“Being a better person really is an issue about understanding what this is all about, what life is all about, what existence is all about.”
—Prem Rawat
