On May 16 in Boston, Prem Rawat welcomed an audience to an evening that was at once intimate, uplifting and thought-provoking. Through stories, humor, reflection and song, he invited people to pause from the demands of daily life and consider a question that touches everyone: what is truly worth holding onto?
From the beginning of his presentation, Prem spoke not in abstractions, but in simple images drawn from ordinary life.
He described how easily people can become caught up in worries, routines, conflicts and beliefs that seem all-consuming. Using the image of a spider’s web, he illustrated how life’s complexities can entangle attention so completely that people often forget to ask the most important questions: Why am I here? What really matters? What is real?
Discover what is real and unusual
He encouraged listeners to look beyond assumptions inherited from culture, circumstance or habit, and discover what is real for themselves and truly unusual.

In this world, what is unusual?
True love is unusual.
True enlightenment is unusual.

A central thread throughout the Boston event was the preciousness of human life. Prem reminded the audience that life is brief, and that every person shares the same essential journey: at one time we were not here, now we are here, and one day we will be gone.
Rather than framing this as something somber, he spoke of it as a reason for gratitude. The awareness that life is temporary, he explained, can become a source of clarity—an invitation to appreciate the present moment more fully and to live with greater understanding and joy.
Love, kindness, truth, clarity and peace, he explained, are the treasures worth collecting.
The peace that is already within
Another message Prem shared was this: peace is not something that can be handed from one person to another, nor is it something dependent on perfect circumstances. On the contrary, it is already within each of us, just waiting to be experienced.
Prem described what he referred to as the divine not as something distant, but as a presence living inside each person. He pointed to breath as its simplest expression—a constant reminder of life itself, available in every moment, but all too often overlooked.
I know me. And you should know you.
That is about as spiritual as it gets.
If you don’t know you, you don’t know anything.
But if you know you, then you know everything.

Music that carried the message further
Interwoven throughout the evening were six newly shared songs written by Prem, each one offering a musical reflection of the themes featured in his talk. The songs brought a heartfelt lightness and immediacy to the evening.
“Gather”—echoed his invitation to collect what is meaningful in life: love, grace, truth and kindness.

“Need to Feel It”—expressed the importance of direct experience, reminding listeners that life is meant to be felt deeply.

“Find The Divine”—a closing affirmation that what people seek most deeply is already within them.

As the Boston event came to a close, what remained was not only the memory of stories, humor and music, but also a simple reminder: that amid the noise and complexity of life, peace is never far away. Indeed, it is already present, just waiting to be recognized and appreciated.
In this life,
you have to live this life consciously.
Every day.
There are no excuses.
