The recent translation of “Hear Yourself” into Japanese by Bunya Publishing provided an engaging opportunity for Prem Rawat on October 19 to address an enthusiastic audience at an author’s event in Kyoto.
Japanese is now the 16th language that Mr. Rawat’s New York Times bestselling book has been translated into in the past three years, with other languages on the way.
What is the gift? I’ll tell you what the gift is.
You are here. That’s the gift.
You are here.
Prem Rawat, Kyoto, Japan, October 19, 2024
2024 marks the 10th anniversary of Prem Rawat’s first collaboration with Bunya Publishing – a collaboration which has, to date, contributed to more than 450,000 copies of Prem’s books being sold worldwide.
Mr. Yutaka Kinoshita, the CEO of Bunya Publishing, has long been an enthusiastic supporter of Prem Rawat and his message that personal peace is available to all human beings. Mr. Kinoshita’s ongoing efforts have been instrumental in helping spread the word about Hear Yourself and the groundbreaking work of Prem Rawat.

In 2014, the forward-thinking Mr. Kinoshita launched The Kifubon Project which provides books to disadvantaged people in need of empathy, compassion, hope and strength.
To date, hundreds of copies of Prem Rawat’s books have been distributed to every orphanage, disabled child-care facility and prison in Japan. The book has also been made available to prisons in many other countries, as well as educational facilities and schools in Brazil, Uruguay, Cambodia and Malaysia.
Excerpts from the Q&A session at Prem Rawat’s Kyoto event:
“I am 97 years old… I’d like to tell about your message of inner peace to my grandchildren and great-grandchildren, the younger generation. How can I help?”
Prem Rawat: “Be their grandmother. Be their grandfather. It doesn’t matter how plump a mango is on a mango tree if there is nobody who’s hungry enough to pluck it and eat it. Knowledge requires hunger… Give them the love. When they see that, then they will go, ‘What was special about grandmother? Oh, she had Knowledge. What is Knowledge?”

“Your message of inner peace is relevant to all people in the world… It is very close to the ancient Japanese idea of harmony. I would be grateful if you could give a message to the people of Japan.”
Prem Rawat: “If you are in an ocean and the waves are going up and down… and you are in a little boat and grab onto the side of the boat, what will happen? I am here to tell you to find the harmony in your heart. That’s where you need to be in harmony with.”
“How can we help you in your work?”
Prem Rawat: “Let me ask you a question. Have you heard of this thing called ‘sun’ in the sky? Does the sun do a lot of good? Has it earned the Nobel Peace Prize or any prize? No! There are people who want the Nobel Peace Prize because they want to be recognized -and then there are those who want to be recognized for their message… I want to be recognized for my message of peace – not because somebody gave me an award.”

Prem Rawat’s October 19 presentation in Kyoto is one of many he has made in Japan during the past few decades. What follows is a very moving presentation he gave in 2020 in honor of the A-bomb victims of Hiroshima.
