How do we give our children a voice and a choice?
That’s the question that prominent peace educators, civil society leaders, and United Nations officials will address at the 3rd Annual Online Conference for Global Peace Education Day (GPEN) on September 20 – a conference that will honor the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. The conference theme is “Human Rights – Empowering Children.”
Please join more than 20 speakers and hundreds of fellow peace activists, educators, diplomats, dignitaries, scholars, scientists, artists, athletes, and executives for this important exploration.
Prem Rawat will give a keynote presentation on Empowering Youth with Peace Education (excerpted from a talk he delivered in Johannesburg, South Africa on May 16.).
Willow Baker, program manager for TPRF’s Peace Education Program will introduce a new video – A Space for Peace – that spotlights the impact of peace education on high school students in Newburyport, Massachusetts.
Other GPEN conference presenters will include:
Conference Chairperson: Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO
Welcome: Federico Mayor Zaragoza: President, Foundation for a Culture of Peace; former UNESCO Director General
