The United Nations declared September 21st to be the International Day of Peace in 1981. Prem Rawat and his sister organizations look forward to this holiday each year. This year The Prem Rawat Foundation’s charity partner, Peace Partners UK, hosted a spectacular event entitled Waves of Change, featuring artists, entertainers, and performers to illustrate through art how the Peace Education Program plays a role in curing societal ills such as youth violence.
Waves of Change UK
Peace Partners, the Tutu Foundation UK, and Youth Futures organized the one day “Waves of Change” event. More than seventy people from all walks of life participated in the event held at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls in South London. The objective of the day, according to Dr. Mitesh Desai, the event chairperson, was “to reflect on how peace can become a reality for us as individuals, for our families, in our communities, and indeed for countries across the world.” Juli Hammersley, Peace Partners director, gives us a report on the occasion and an accompanying video available on The Prem Rawat Foundation website.
