The Kifubon Project focuses on providing books for social benefit. It works through the generosity of people buying and donating copies of books to the individual projects, which are then distributed by the teams to worthy recipients.

Bunya, a Japanese publisher, set up the Kifubon project in Japan and inspired book-sharing projects in the UK and elsewhere around the world.

The Kifubon Project has now grown into an international social responsibility project with contributions coming in from companies, organisations and individuals from across the globe. So far thousands of books have been donated and are being used in a wide variety of settings with the intention of helping create a culture of empathy and compassion.

To date, book donations have been made to every orphanage, disabled child care facility and prison throughout Japan; every prison in South Africa and to youth education groups in townships around the country; prisons throughout the United Kingdom; as well as prisons in Portugal and educational facilities and schools in Brazil, Uruguay, Cambodia and Malaysia.

The project continues to grow around the globe and warmly invites you to be a part of sharing this much needed message of peace and hope.
