“Somehow there is a want in us to conform to society, to be ‘normal.’ What is the definition of 'normal?’ Nobody actually knows. It’s not published in a book that says, This is normal. Therefore, you have to believe what is normal. So, you then officially are members of this cult of 'normal.’ Because all you’re doing is believing. You don’t know anything.” —Prem Rawat

ca·coph·o·ny: a harsh discordant mixture of sounds
Synonyms: clamor, disturbance, pandemonium, racket, uproar

Do any of these nuances of noise inside your head ring a bell? And ever since COVID-19, are they amplified? Maybe the noise you’ve been listening to is a broken record of regrets. Or a megaphone of the mind blasting all that’s wrong with the world. Or something subtler—but no less unsettling—the diabolical whisper of self-doubt.

When you hear static on the radio you immediately try to find a station emitting a clear signal. Yet often you’ll put up with internal static for hours… days… months… years. Maybe even a lifetime.

There is a station transmitting a signal continuously that’s free of bad news and sour notes. No matter what your taste in music is, you will never hear anything more exquisite or joyous than the symphony of peace playing inside you. If you feel it, tune in. Glide to its rhythm. Even if you keep saying you have two left feet (noise).

So what if you don’t know how to dance—your heart does.
