Prem was honoured to visit Hiroshima recently for the first time to pay his respects to the beautiful people of this inspiring city.
Perhaps the standout moment of this trip was the Hiroshima Peace Memorial where he laid flowers at the place where the first atomic bomb was dropped.
As part of the hugely moving experience Prem also rang the peace bell and provided an interview to Japanese national news outlet, Asahi News.
The Hiroshima Peace Memorial – also referred to as the Atomic Bomb Dome – serves as a memorial to the more than 140,000 people who were killed in the atomic bombing of Hiroshima on 6th August 1945 and was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1996. The building was the only structure left standing near the bomb’s hypocentre.
